EcoFest Kai events

EcoFest 2026 is here with a multitude of events celebrating Tāmaki Makaurau’s unique environment and the many ways communities care for it, including a category specifically for food-related events. Until the 22 April (Earth Day), communities across Auckland will host hands-on workshops, eco activities, environmental education and community-led climate action. Food Forest Our Public Parks!

A Community Design workshop

Food forests are a growing trend worldwide, bringing together ecological restoration, community engagement and local food production. This session explores how communities can design productive, regenerative public spaces. Sunday 12 April, 1pm at EcoMatters EcoHub in New Lynn. Tickets $15. Learn more and book here.

Join us for a nourishing day exploring good kai, mindful movement, creativity, connection and climate-positive actions.

With workshops on plant-based eating, the relationship between food and health,  Mindful Threads pop-in community art work,  organic garden tour and harvest, plus a slice of woodfired pizza for lunch with our plant based chef. We finish the day with a relaxing and restorative session - move with nature.  Sunday 19 April, 10am at EcoMatters EcoHub in New Lynn. Half day ($15) and full day ($25) tickets available.
