Indigenising local food ecosystems for the hauora of the people.

Urban Farms are not unlike community gardens, in that they are also spaces for training volunteers, hosting workshops, and leading tours. Many farmers manage their sites as places of harvest and teaching- the social aspect is key to ongoing community buy-in to the farm and CSA.

Being able to grow food is essential in the face of climate change, particularly in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland). Auckland Council has developed a climate plan called Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri to address this challenge.
