Capacity-Building for Systems Change
The Capacity-Building Pou shines a light on our collective purpose: to grow the capacity for local food initiatives to thrive. With our shared strength, complementary skills, and deep community connections, Kai West works to connect and strengthen West Auckland’s kai communities.
This Pou is all about building the capacity and capabilities of our collective organisations to support and sustain local kai initiatives. We focus on facilitating and strengthening networks of action to foster the sharing of knowledge, skills, and resources that advance food resilience and sovereignty across the region.
Capacity-building is essential for grassroots systems change. It empowers local leadership, strengthens community resilience, and builds the foundations for long-term transformation. By working closely with our kai communities, we can widen our collective voice and more effectively influence conversations about food resilience, sovereignty, and climate change, ensuring that change is authentic, equitable, and led by the community.
